Description
As part of our Foundations of Clinical Supervision series, Building Strong Teams: Hiring and Onboarding Essentials for Behavioral Health Professionals will occur on January 6, 2026 held virtually through Zoom.
Schedule: This virtual training will run from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM EST.
Course description:
This training is part three of a six-part Foundations in Gambling Supervision series aimed at professionals looking to enhance their supervisory skills in gambling disorder services.
As agencies carry out their day-to-day operations, it is essential to make intentional efforts to build teams capable of delivering high-quality direct services to clients. These efforts often take shape when an organization launches a new initiative or expands its services to address emerging or previously unmet needs. In the service field for disordered and problem gambling, many agencies are now considering how best to develop and structure programs that effectively respond to these challenges. This training is designed to provide guidance on building a strong service team through thoughtful administrative processes. Key management practices—including hiring, orientation, performance appraisal, and termination—will be reviewed and discussed.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will develop understanding of hiring and termination practices including practices to improve staff performance and candidate selection.
- Participants will identify how onboarding processes can be designed to build belonging and a sense of mission to an organization and its clients in addition to the administrative requirements met during orientation.
- Participants will learn administrative practices for performance appraisal and how these processes go beyond an administrative obligation and are useful for staff development and program objectives.
Who Should Attend: Treatment professionals that oversee gambling treatment services
Cost: No Cost
